We love this villa because...
it is totally unique. Set in 3 acres with fabulous guest suites and wonderful furnishings. The team of staff make this feel like a private luxury boutique hotel

KABA KABA ESTATE

Kaba Kaba Estate is a regal, no-expense-spared property in Bali’s Tabanan regency. It sits on three acres of gardens in south west Bali.

The property has spectacular views over rice terraces stretching to the distant, volcano-strewn horizon. Its series of individual pavilions house eight bedrooms. There is also a home theatre, games room, library and gym. In addition there is a spa and multiple living areas. These areas showcase antiques, artefacts and contemporary art.

Within the gardens is a choice of pools. These include a children’s wading pool. There is also a tennis court and croquet lawn.

Kaba Kaba Estate is fully staffed by a highly professional team. It offers five star service in private surroundings. This is the ideal location for luxurious holidays, parties, celebrations and romantic weddings.

Kaba Kaba Estate has an abundance of living areas spread throughout its grounds. Some are large enough to easily accommodate a full house of 18.  Others are set back in private corners. These are perfect for those seeking a quiet retreat from the crowd.

A formal living room rests at the heart of the estate’s main building. Conversation flows in this elegant space. It offers generous seating. Gilded Burmese and Thai Buddhas display against a silk-lined wall. There are spectacular 180-degree views beyond the pool and garden. Sliding glass doors on two sides can be closed for air-conditioned cool. Alternativel these may be left open for fan-assisted tropical living.

Two more living rooms complement the guest pavilions. Designer fiberglass bulldogs guard the entrance to the Pilisan living area. It offers Andrew Martin ikat-covered seating, a colourful kilim and garden deck.

The open-sided Pande living area exudes Raffles-style elegance. It has a diamond-patterned marble floor. There is colonial-style cane seating, steamer trunks and whirring paddle fans. Relax in the crisp white colour scheme splashed with blue accents from Chinese ceramics. The TV is discreetly hidden behind sliding doors. Pride of place is given to the stately table with an 18th-century marble top from a Rajasthan palace.

DINING ROOM
A solid Suarwood table. It is so heavy it took 40 people to install. The table stretches over six metres and is surrounded by 18 upholstered dining chairs. It commands centre stage in the open-sided dining pavilion.

An eclectic collection of Asian antiques adorns this space. There is the gilded throne from a Burmese temple and an Indian Kerala river boat.

Alongside is a gleaming open-plan guest kitchen with sit-up bar. This offers a coffee machine and TV. Behind a wall of gold lacquer are two hidden wine fridges. The main service kitchen contains an enviable range of quality culinary equipment.

MEDIA ROOM
This is a Moroccan-themed media room. Curtains of rich maroon velvet frame plush sofas set on a Persian carpet. The sofas face the 60-inch TV withing Bose surround-sound. For an enhanced cinematic experience, movies may also be enjoyed on the huge retractable projector screen. In an adjacent washroom are bevelled mirrors hang on metallic walls. The decadent souk-style continues.

GAMES ROOM
Kids of all ages will love playing air hockey and table football in the games room. This has a long bench with bar chairs designed for gaming (bring your laptop). There is aa walk-in play room full of toys. There are also books and board games and a cute washroom.

LIBRARY
The library adjacent to the master bedroom suite is the perfect spot for some quiet time.  The shelves yield an intriguing selection of books. The genre ranges from popular fiction to photography-rich books on Bali. Take your pick, then curl up on the canopied seat. The seat is hand-printed with an antique map of the East Indies.

OUTDOOR LIVING
On the upper level of the entrance pavilion is a huge entertainment space. This has an alfresco performance area. There is a covered bar and enormous rooftop balé. Here guests may enjoy Bali’s legendary sunsets sprawled in cushioned comfort. Around the main 25-metre swimming pool are deeply cushioned sunbeds-for-two. There is all-weather rattan seating arranged in a convivial u-shape. The bedrooms’ balconies and decks provide many private areas. These are ideal for quiet relaxation too.

BEDROOMS
Kaba Kaba Estate offers seven bedroom suites . There are five with king-size beds. A further two have twin beds convertible to kings. Each bedroom suite is oriented for privacy. They have garden and rice-terrace views. An eighth room, with two sets of bunk beds, is designed specifically for kids.

The bedroom suites are named after the major banjars (community councils) in the village. These large suites have marble-edged teakwood parquet floors. These spread out under a vaulted alang-alang thatched roof.

There are stunning antiques and contemporary paintings. Hand-crafted ikat fabrics and statement furniture create a truly princely experience.

Four-poster beds with King Koil Pillow-top mattresses are  dressed in high-thread-count bed linen. These will ensure a sublime night’s sleep helped by blackout curtains.
