Deia is one of the most enchanting villages in Mallorca. It is a small town with honey-coloured stone cottages on a hilltop overlooking the rugged coast. Writer Robert Graves lived here, and now it’s become a hideaway for the rich and famous.

It is a peaceful retreat with stunning views. You can meander through the narrow streets. Browse the chic boutiques and galleries and sit and watch the world go by in one of the charming squares. There is a small beach at Cala Deia.

Deia is also close to the town of Valldemossa.

Valldemossa is an historic town around 15-20 minutes’ drive from Palma. It is perched on a hilltop surrounded by terraced terrain. The town has car free cobbled alleys and rich cultural heritage. It is a very special, calming place to visit.

Valdemossa is the highest town in Mallorca. Polish composer Chopin and his French lover, writer George Sand, spent the winter here in 1938/9 in rented rooms in the monastery.

It is one of Mallorca's most visited towns. Michael Douglas has a home off the Valldemossa to Soller coast road near Deia.

The Carthusian monastery including the church is definitely worth a visit.  Valldemossa itself is pretty and quaint with lovely views and exudes the energy of a time from centuries ago.

Renting a villa anywhere near this location would be a wonderful experience.
