The Old Rectory
The Old Rectory is an historic 5 bedroom home dating back to the late 1700s. It is built in the style of a Georgian manor house.
The Old Rectory sits on a bluff enjoying stunning views of the North West Coast of the island and the Caribbean Sea. It is just a short drive from the quaint town of Speightstown.
At one time this was The Old Rectory for the historic St. Peter’s Parish Church.
This lovely home is set in just over 3 acres of landscaped grounds. Within the grounds is the main house and a separate Carriage House.
The two-storey main house features an expansive living room, a family and formal dining room. These all open to a full-length covered terrace. The terrace ideal for casual lounging and dining.
At the rear of the house is the well-appointed kitchen which adjoins the cozy breakfast room. The original brick oven still remains.
An elegant staircase leads up to the upper level. There is a full bathroom positioned just off the half landing.
On the upper level is the master bedroom suite. There are also another four spacious bedrooms on this level. These bedrooms share a second full bathroom.
There is also a basement with slate floors. This could be used as a media room or home gym. There are also other storage rooms.
Beautifully restored by the current owners the buildings retain the authentic features of a by-gone era. There are thick, coral stone walls. This home has black cherry floors throughout. It has tall double-hung Sash windows with deep window seats. The inner and outer shutters have been retained.
Within the courtyard are the original limestone ‘drip stones’. These were historically used to filter and purify drinking water.
Across the courtyard is the Carriage House which comprises a beautiful one-bedroom apartment. The bedroom is on the upper level. There is a garage and a storage room on the lower level.
A swimming pool and gazebo have been constructed on the western side of the property. These enjoy magnificent sea views.
The Old Rectory is ideally located a short drive from beautiful beaches. It is also a short drive from the northern town of Speightstown. Speightstown is a lovely historic town set on the edge of the Caribbean Sea. Here there is a wide range of shopping amenities, restaurants and supermarkets.
