Castello di Sassi is a lovely country house located between Florence and Siena in the beautiful Chianti area. This villa was once a fortified watch tower, in the XIIIth century and over the many years has been enlarged and restored to reveal a enchanting three storey 5 bedroom property, with a large garden, swimming pool ( approx 13m x 6m) and hard surface tennis court.

Internally the villa is very knowledgably furnished reflecting the owner’s taste and love for special objects. Castello di Sassi is accessed by a unpaved road, and is surrounded by a 20 acre estate producing excellent Chianti Classico wine and olive oil. Special mention must be made of the outdoor living and dining areas, where in the summer months particularly, make a most relaxing place. Guests will be looked after by a maid who takes care of cleaning the house and by a full time talented local cook living on the premises who prepares all meals, breakfast each day is included in the rental charge. Exploring the most renowned of the Chianti villages such as Castellina, Radda, Panzano and Greve are all within a 15 minute drive and well worth a visit, so we would recommend hiring a car.

Ground Floor: Entrance is into a small lobby, where a stairway leads to the upper floor. To the left is a Breakfast room followed by a large and fully equipped kitchen. To the right is the large dining room with large table seating up to 14. A guest bathroom completes the floor.

First Floor: The stairway from the ground floor leads directly into a large living area composed of a double living room, a sitting room with fireplace, a study also with fireplace and a TV room with satellite and a DVD. At one end of this floor is a double bedroom with king size bed with its en suite bathroom with tub. A single room for the exclusive use of the cook completes this floor.

Second Floor: There is a double bedroom with king size bed and en suite bathroom with tub and telephone shower. Two more double bedrooms share a very spacious bathroom with tub and telephone shower.

Annexe: Just 10 meters from the outside entrance, a door leads to a small annexe wherein a sitting room sits between two bedrooms, one with three single beds (ideal for children) and the other with a French size bed (ideal for the nanny). Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.
