Marnei Mare - Samos

The Marnei Mare estate is located within a designated conservation area on the north western coast of the Greek island of Samos. The north westerly location benefits from the prevailing northerly Mistral during the summer months, which keeps the area several degrees cooler than the southern part of the island. The owners have long established relations with the island and the three villas were built for their children and named after them amongst fourteen acres of productive olive plantation, and have stunning se and mountain views. Each villa is surrounded by extensively planted and well maintained gardens, which have a pink, white and yellow theme.

The estate is completely private and tranquil, with only the back ground sounds of nature and sea. There are two 3 bedroom villas and a 4 bedroom with interior designs which have English, French and Greek influences with simple Mediterranean touches and a selection of hand-picked antique furnishings.

All bedrooms have sea/garden views or mountain/garden views and all terraces enjoy views of the breathtaking sunset as the sun dives into the Aegean horizon. The Terraces and Floors are designed with Italian and Greek terracotta and the bathrooms with Greek Marble - white with gray.

Each villa has an open living area with satelite TV, Video and CD player, a fully equipped kitchen and the experience at Marnei Mare keenly promotes Greek culture and cooking using the food items grown organically on the estate. Greek country cooking is a specialty, a trained chef can be arranged to prepare something delicious for the more discerning tastes, and a welcome basket of local goodies is provided complimentary on arrival.

The swimming pool and children's pool is shared between the guests in the villas, alternatively, one of the best beaches on the island, Megalo Seitani is visible from the estate and is accessible only by foot and boat or there are steep stone steps leading down from the estate to two separate coves, both of which offer total privacy and seclusion.

Breakfast is also is included, and guests can enjoy a combination of continental and English breakfast in addition with cakes and locally grown fruit, Greek yogurt, free range eggs and home made cheese, home made jams and marmalades, pure local honey and fresh orange juice all served by the attentive and friendly staff at Marnei Mare.

The nearest town is Karlovasi (3km) where there is a good selection of local taverns and fish restaurants, supermarkets and local markets selling clothes, local pottery and fishing equipment.
