Bananaquit - St Lucia

Bananaquit is situated in Soufriere with unparalleled views of the Caribbean Sea and the Piton mountains, From the pool deck on a clear day you can see St. Vincent in the far distance. Soufriere was once the island’s capital, but now is one of 3 main town areas of St. Lucia, not far from the volcano, the health-giving mineral baths, and the beautiful Diamond botanical gardens. Anse Chastanet Hotel and Anse Mamim beach is five minutes drive away and is renowned for its excellent snorkelling. The house is named after the tiny bananaquit bird that frequents the surrounding colourful garden which is planted in terraces with bougainvillea, palms, mangoes, lilies and other exotic tropical flora.

The entrance level is on the pool terrace, which has a fenced swimming pool (approximatley 10 ft x 15ft) and gas BBQ. The terrace opens onto a large living area consisting of a dining area with seating for 8 persons and views over the garden to the sea and the mountains. The living area consists of three sofas and a chaise longue, a small library of books and a cupboard equipped with many games and puzzles to keep the family busy. There is also a stereo system and a TV with a DVD player, (there is no TV reception in this area). The living area is a colonnaded gallery, which runs the length of the house, with a fish pond filled with lilies.

At the back of the house there is a well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker etc and a laundry room with a washing machine.

There are five main bedrooms which can sleep up to eleven guests. Downstairs, there is a 2 bedrooms with a king size bed, ceiling fan, one has an en-suite bathroom, private balcony and spectacular views the other opens up onto the garden. The other bedroom on this level has a single bed, a set of bunk beds and a ceiling fan. The latter two bedrooms share a bathroom.

The additional two bedrooms are upstairs, one with a queen size bed and a single bed and a table fan and the other has two double beds and has a ceiling fan, both rooms share a bathroom.
