Chateau in Tanues - Tanues

This property consists of the main house, a barn and a cottage which has potential to be converted into accommodation for a Caretaker. The main house is connected by a stone patio to a large barn. This property is enclosed by a stone wall which is capped with tiles. This wonderful property also boasts a vegetable garden outside of the walls. ( One acre of land in total).

The main entrance can be found through the original large wrought iron gates and there are three other smaller iron gates places around the walls. The long gravelled drive is particularly useful for those with cars and is separated from the lawn by a stone border.

The main house has three floors, with a tower and an orignal stoned roof. The ground floor features the drawing rooms, dining room and kitchen. The first floor and tower features the bedrooms. The second floor has a maid's bedroom (bedroom number 8) and is the size of the whole area of the house.

Ground floor:
This floor, tiled throughout, features the front entrance hall with staircase leading up to the first and second floor. The drawing room, main dining room, breakfast room and fully fitted kitchen are all located here. From the kitchen, you can enter the main cellar which leads to more stairs down to the wine cellar. There are also back stairs which lead from the kitchen up to the back landing.

First floor and tower:
With wooden floors throughout, here you will find the seven traditional bedrooms - all of which have wash basins. The main bedroom has its own lavatory and wash basin and also a separate dressing room for additional space. There is also a separate toilet and separate shower room with wash basin located on the first floor landing.

Second Floor:
This floor, reached by the main staircase, has a maid's bedroom. This floor could be converted into whatever you desire, planning permission permitting and could potentially increase the number of bedrooms, or develop the space into an art studio or whatever you desire. It has wonderful natural light from the four individual windows in the roof. There are also a further staircase leading from this floor into the tower. This tower, with a window in the roof, could also be converted into another bedroom.

The Barn
The barn has a horse trough outside and it's own spring. On the ground floor is an individual round stone floor with three individual stables and separate door to a workshop. On the first floor, floored out in wood, there are purpose made holes above the stables to drop hay through to the stables below.

The cottage (Four a Pain)
There are doors at both the side and the front with a small window. There are stairs leading to the first floor. There is also an original Auvergne Four a Pain fireplace and oven. The first floor, with wooden flooring, has two windows in the roof leaving a very airy feel.
