Luxury Villas In Virgin Islands
Featured Villa : Baraka Point - Virgin Islands
The British and US Virgin Islands are ideal for island hopping, particularly on board a private yacht. The islands are such a short distance between one another, and with the reliable winds and various anchor point even first time sailors can benefit from this wonderful experience. If you are not sailing is also very easy to island hop using the ferry. The Virgin Islands provides its visitors with lively beaches as well as many deserted coves and tiny beach inlets, to create your own personal paradise.
Any one of the 3 United States Virgin Islands can be reached by ferry - St John which is a quiet reserved island much of it has been reserved as a National Park but St Thomas is in contrast is highly developed, with large hotels busy beaches, restaurants and lots of shopping, which makes this island a popular stop for cruise ships. The third of the US Virgin Islands, St Croix is accessed, via St Thomas.
The British Virgin Islands is mainly dry tropical forest, with stunning shoreline and coastal scenery. The highest point on the main island, Tortola, is Mt Sage, with its larger trees and orchids in the more lush greenery. Road Town is the focal point on Tortola, where there are many restaurants, bars and a large marina welcoming the passing yachts. The beautifully unique beaches of the British Virgin Islands come in all shapes and sizes, mostly uncrowded with white sandy beaches and translucent water filled with interesting marine life.
There is no local transport in the BVI, so hiring a car is highly recommended, but taxis are available or you can hop on a 'safari bus' or 'jitney' and pay for the journey you take.
In many places the food is generally American in style, but there is also some French and Italian restaurants too, and in the hotels there are a number fine dining restaurants. To have someone come to your villa to cook for you is a wonderful option, we can arrange a cook/chef for you or you can even order meals in advance and have them delivered to your villa.
Getting to the islands is via one of the larger nearby gateway islands, traveling through the UK the regular route is via Antigua, plus a connecting service usually the same day. From other parts of Europe the most convenient route is to St Maarten, from Paris with a connecting flight. From the States the two main choices are via St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands and San Juan in Puerto Rico.
Once you arrive, there are ferries linking many of the islands allowing you to visit an island for the day, do some shopping maybe before returning back to you villa.
