Anguilla is a low-key, up market Caribbean holiday retreat located 150 miles East of Puerto Rico and is the most northerly of the Leeward Islands . There are no direct flights to Anguilla, however there are regular connecting services from the neighbouring islands and there is also a 20 minute ferry service from St Marteen. This selected access to the island allows Anguilla to remain fashionable amongst those who resist the crowds and relish in the privacy of the luxury accommodation and unspoiled beaches. The beaches in Anguilla are a key attraction, with their white coral sand and contrasting warm, turquoise waters and over 33 to chose from. The Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Investment, Commerce and Tourism of the Government of Anguilla has issued new rates for the Embarkation Tax, payable by all visitors traveling though the seaports. All airport taxes remain the same.
The new rates, which became , are as follows:
Adults: US$20.00 or EC$ 53.00
Children (Under 12 years): US$ 10.00 or EC$ 26.50
Day-trippers, Anguillians, residents of Anguilla and residents of St. Martin/Saint Maarten will continue to pay the following rates:
Adults: US$5.00 or EC$ 13.00
Children (Under 12 years): Free
